From hospital bed to front door
A skiing accident can bring a holiday to an abrupt end – and turn what should have been a straightforward flight home into a much more complicated journey.
It’s a scenario our team knows well.

A traveller injured while skiing in Austria is discharged from hospital and needs to return to the UK. They’re fit to fly commercially, but their injury means they can’t bend their leg or travel comfortably in a standard airline seat.
Simply booking the next available flight isn’t an option.
The journey needs to take account of their mobility, seating requirements, airport assistance and transport at both ends – while finding a practical and cost-effective route home.
Our team starts by looking at the journey as a whole.
Depending on the traveller’s location, that could mean arranging transport from the hospital to Salzburg or Munich and identifying a suitable commercial flight back to the UK.
We can coordinate wheelchair assistance through the airport and arrange additional seating where the passenger needs to keep an injured leg extended during the flight.
We’ll also consider the final stage of the journey. Once the passenger arrives in the UK, onward ground transport can be arranged to take them from the airport to their destination.
Behind the scenes, our team coordinates the different elements of the itinerary, working with the relevant airlines and travel providers to keep everything connected.
What initially looks like a difficult journey home becomes a carefully coordinated itinerary built around the traveller’s individual needs.
For our clients, that means one experienced team managing the travel arrangements from hospital discharge through to arrival in the UK – with 24/7 support available should anything change along the way.
Getting people home is what we do.
Whether it's an injured skier in the Alps or a complex repatriation from further afield, Voyageur24 brings together the people, travel arrangements and specialist support needed to make the journey possible.
